Correcting a Common Assumption
This would put the setting of Jane Eyre around 1810. Most adaptations seem to place it in the time that it was written, in 1847. Clothing styles were much different between these two dates. If a movie was made that places Jane Eyre at the earlier date we would see the characters wearing fashion from the Regency Era.
